When does the workshop take place?
This workshop is planned as a five-day workshop with six hours of teaching a day.
For whom is the course?
It is suitable for beginners and advanced who who want to learn to draw or paint from the object in space.
What do I learn in this course?
First, let’s briefly explain why we offer drawing and painting sculptures. Even then, the Old Masters learned to use sculptures from Roman or Greek history for their work. Casts are particularly suitable because they are white. So you do not have to think “in color” yet and it’s easier to draw or paint in black and white. Here we are talking about a technique called Grisaille. In this workshop, you will learn something of composition, perspectives on objects in space, and correctly transfer proportions.
How is the process?
In this workshop we will start with the composition. Which objects or cast do you want to use. What will be the best set-up and how can you illuminate to create an interesting compostion. It feels a little bit like arrangement of the best set-up for a theater stage and will need some time. When everything is done, a drawing is started which is then transferred to the canvas. Participants will learn methods of measurement like sight-size and how to create forms by using light and shadows.
What do I have to bring?
After a successful registration, a material list will be sent to you. The costs are between 30 – 50 euros, depending on which materials you already have. When purchasing the initial equipment costs can vary between 50-100 euros.

I had a lot of fun. Even if it's a lot of hard-working and concentration, in the end of the day you are proud to have created a small artwork. I'm really looking forward to the next workshop!
